Serena Williams Shares Glimpse of Post-Pregnancy Fitness Journey That Makes Fans Do a Double Take

Serena Williams is back to life just weeks after giving birth to her second daughter with husband Alexis Ohanian, Adira River Ohanian, on August 22.

The former professional tennis player, 42, shared a glimpse of her postpartum fitness journey with a gym photographwhere she was lying on a yoga mat in her all-black workout attire.

However, hovering over her was her six-year-old daughter, Olympiawho seemed to be watching and encouraging her mother to follow her routine.

Serena captioned the candid photo: “Olympia watching me try to get my abdominal muscles working again. Here comes fitness!” and fans found the illusion created by Olympia’s hair directly over her mother’s difficult to look at just once.

Alexis commented, “Love this photo,” while one fan wrote, “I know I’m not the only one who was looking for Olympia?” and another said: “If you hadn’t said so I would have thought it was her hair and a pillow underneath.”

A third also added: “Ha, cool angle! Two heads become one,” and a fourth gushed: “You got this Serena, the best coach, Olympia, is watching you.”

The decorated athlete has been less active than usual on social media since welcoming baby Adira, although she soon after took to her YouTube channel to give a peek inside her newborn’s nursery.

Based on the look she provided, the theme of the space appeared to be “red and majestic” as the entire room was decorated with velvet pieces and gold accents, a large crib with opulent drapes, and of course, a crown on top. everything off.

The nursery’s pieces were supplied by Dutch company By Selina, and in an Instagram post introducing the nursery’s reveal, Serena mentioned that she saw a baby bed in their store that “took my breath away” and served as inspiration for the space.

She continued: “I wanted to see if I could get something similar, but in my own colors, of course. Without knowing the gender, I wanted to do a neutral color, but not gray, yellow or brown.

“I wanted something different. Red. They only had 6 weeks to make it and they delivered! I literally had Adira the next day! Thank you for making my nursery dream come true.”

In the video, Serena welcomed fans into the space while it was still being prepared, getting her own hands as dirty as she could while still pregnant, even though she wore a two-piece Gucci print swimsuit for her maternity outfit.

Meanwhile, Olympia, as cheerful as ever, continued to enter and leave the video and, at one point, when Serena entered her eldest daughter’s room to use him as an example, Olympia kicked her out.
