Crumble cookies have more calories than a Big Mac, and fans are raving

Apparently, it takes 18 miles of running to burn off all the calories in four crumbles.

That’s according to TikTok creator Rhys Schmidt, who has recorded himself doing what he calls “impossible runs.” He eats high-calorie foods and tracks how many miles it takes him to burn off the calories consumed.

In one video, Schmidt ate four crumble cookies, which equaled roughly 2,600 calories. He said he felt sick before he started running. At mile 16, he burned through 2,201 and told viewers, “I’m done eating crumbles.”

The popular cookie brand, known for its 6-ounce desserts and unique flavors, has recently come under fire on social media for the calorie count in its cookies.

In fine print below each cookie, Crumble’s menu shows the number of calories per serving. In the latest weekly menu, this number varies from 120 to 210. However, some customers don’t realize that the menu has a drop-down feature that provides full nutritional information and shows that a serving is a quarter of a cookie.

A Classic Crumble Chocolate Chip Cookie has 720 calories, more than McDonald’s Big Mac, which has 590 calories.

Some customers have expressed anger after realizing they consumed far more calories than they thought.

“So I noticed something very disturbing today.” said one TikTok user In a video she explained how she discovered that a cookie crumble had 680 calories, not the 170 she thought.

“Normally, it’s not a big problem,” he said. “Except I hit them three at a time.”

In X, Jenko Count Posted A screenshot of the Nutrition Facts label for the Cookies and Cream Cookies showing a total of 1,000 calories per cookie. “This should be illegal,” he wrote. “Trick customers into consuming far more calories than they realize in order to sell more of a ridiculously unhealthy product.”

The next day, Kent followed up with another screenshot showing that the total number of calories on the Crumble site had changed to 640. Reddit thread As for the change, one user pointed out that the first calorie count may have been from the old cookie recipe, which included more frosting.

This is not the first time that Crumble fans are surprised by the high-calorie foods of this brand. In May, the Center for Science in the Public Interest published an article Warning consumers about the number of calories in each cookie. The consumer advocacy group wrote that one Chocolate Crumble cookie has a full day’s worth of saturated fat and more than half a day’s worth of added sugar.

For customers worried about eating too many calories in one sitting, Crumbl sells a cookie cutter for $8 that evenly divides its cookies into four servings.

Crumble did not respond to Insider’s request for comment.
