Nutritionists caution against this approach to weight loss, and there is no scientific backing to support it.

In a single diet, you stick to one food for days or even weeks. If you choose bananas, it’s only bananas you can eat. Other common foods that people choose for this diet are eggs or potatoes. There are also single chocolate diets! There is less emphasis on what food to eat and more emphasis on choosing a food to eat.

You cannot eat anything on this diet other than the one selected food that you are allowed to eat. This diet is very restrictive and may not be beneficial in the long term. It is better to eat a variety of foods including carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, etc.
