Mangaluru: Prerana-23, 26th annual national homeopathy conference inaugurated at Father Muller

Mangaluru, November 4: The inauguration of the South Indian Homoeo Fest Prerana-23 and the 26th Annual National Homeopathy Conference took place on Saturday, November 4 at Father Muller Auditorium, Deralakatte.

Dr. Saddam Navas, IAS, Additional District Magistrate, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, was the chief guest of the program. Father Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, presided over the program and the occasion was also graced by Father Roshan Crasta, Trustee, FMHMCH & HPD; P. Ashwin Crasta, Deputy Administrator, FMHMCH & HPD; Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Director, FMHMC; Dr. Vilma Meera DSouza, Deputy Director, FMHMC; Dr. Rakhal P, Convener, Prerana-23 and Dr. Amitha P Baliga, Organizing Secretary, 26th Annual National Homeopathy Conference.

The dignitaries were welcomed with a traditional Poorna Kumbha. The formal inaugural program began with invoking the blessings of the Almighty and lighting the lamp. Dr. ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Director, FMHMC, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest.

On this occasion, the annual university magazine Pioneer 2023 was released by the Chief Guest. Editor-in-Chief Dr. Jolly DMello presented the highlights of the magazine and also announced the winners of the cover design competition.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Saddam Navas, IAS, in his inaugural address expressed his pleasure and satisfaction in being part of Prerana-23, and said that technology cannot replace the doctor and hence we practically have to address the community to identify its needs. As a team, we need to prepare for the future in terms of research and updating knowledge.

The Père Muller homeopathic pharmaceutical division is famous throughout the world for its quality homeopathic products and medicines. Father Roshan Crasta, administrator of FMHMC&H and FMHPD, launched a series of new products, accompanied by the director of FMCI.

Dr. Srinath Rao, former Director and CEO of Materia Medica Department, was felicitated on the occasion by the Director and Chief Guest for 36 years of dedicated and valuable services rendered to the institution.

Reverend Father Roshan Crasta, Trustee of FMHMC&H and FMHPD, addressed the gathering and said that the South Indian Homoeo Fest is an opportunity for exchange of expertise and knowledge. He also highlighted the coming together of students to look beyond the horizon, to make the presence of the nation felt and known.

Father Richard A. Coelho, Director of FMCI, presented a memento to the guest of honor as a token of appreciation and gratitude. In his presidential address, he congratulated the team for hosting the 23rd and 26th Prerana Conferences. He hoped that the participants would give the best of themselves.

Prerana-23, the mega cultural event which brought together many homeopathic colleges and witnessed a spectacular and prolific cultural and literary extravaganza. More than 525 students from 16 different homeopathic colleges across South India participated and won prizes worth Rs one lac.

Dr Rakhal P, organizer of the South Indian Homoeo Fest, proposed the vote of thanks.

Dr. Deepa Rebello and Dr. Manish Tiwari participated in the program.

November 5 will be the 26th annual national conference on homeopathy. Dr. Sreekar Manu, Chairman, Managing Director and Founder of Dr Manu’s Homeopathy and Dr. Rajat Chattopadhyay, Director and Trustee of Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital will be the resource person for the day. Around 720 delegates will attend the conference.

The appreciation program will take place on November 5. Dr. K. Narayanan, distinguished alumnus, classical Carnatic musician and playback singer, will be the chief guest.
