After a student warned what happened to 800 mg of caffeine.

A nutritionist has issued a warning after a TikToker consumed nearly 800mg of caffeine to find out what happens if you take too much of the drug.

A student at Boston College took to TikTok to film himself ingesting 790 milligrams of caffeine to find out how too much caffeine affects your body and mind.

And well, it should be fairly obvious, but definitely don’t try this at home – or anywhere else for that matter.

Mino – who goes by the username @stigma_mino – took to the platform to cut down on what he later described as the ‘worst day of his life’, breaking his caffeine binge in ‘five steps’ from 9am to 10am which begins to decrease. the experiment.

First stage: Euphoria. Immediately after ingesting 790 milligrams of caffeine — the safe daily intake is about 400 milligrams, according to the US Food and Drug Administration — the TikToker indicated she felt energized and shared videos of herself at the gym.

The second stage was “pain” – Mino noted that she thought she might “go sore” unless she drank more water and also felt like she was “going to bloat”.

Unsurprisingly, Mino not only felt sick, but actually vomited, but the third stage after finishing her trip to the salon resulted in another bout of euphoria.

In stage four, Mino was hit by “spontaneous sadness,” the TikToker collapsed from a major caffeine hit.

And last, but not least, was his “spontaneous return” blast at 1am.

However, he notes, “Kidding aside, please don’t try this.

The “spontaneous sadness” I described was actually kind of the saddest feeling I’ve had in months.

Mino adds that his friend, who also tried the caffeine test, had a seizure after taking “just 400 milligrams.”

In fact, a nutritionist has since warned others to never exceed the recommended amount of caffeine.

Sammy Brando, a nutritionist in New York, reflected on the TikToker’s video to Insider.

“You can see in the video how he moved between different extremes, many of them negative,” he warns.

While caffeine can have positive effects, it is best to consume it gradually and not exceed 400 mg per day.

Along with seizures, too much caffeine can also lead to stomach problems, anxiety, insomnia, and other side effects, Brundo adds.

The FDA notes that you may also experience tremors, a fast heartbeat, and a “feeling of discomfort.”
